Résumé
The First in a new series following the adventures of Burns through the Napoleonic wars to the climatic battle of Waterloo. Pierre Burns of Baltimore, Maryland, was brought up to hate the English but thought he would never be able to do anything about it. Now in early 1804, stranded on a French shore in the midst the Napoleonic Army that is preparing to invade England, Burns has been given his chance as an aide-de-camp to Marshal Michael Ney.
In French uniform but still an outsider, Burns stands ready to battle his way to London but it remains to be seen who his real enemies are- the English. or his fellow soldiers who resent his presence, or even his American countrymen. His initial treatment by the French was distrust and some scorn but he son demonstrates his courage and leadership to General Ne who appoints him as an officer of cavalry and from here his adventures begin
