THE ELEPHANT MUST DIE AND OTHER SHORT STORIES is a collection of four stories telling tales of family secrets, anti-vaxxers, lies, and deceit, mixed with a little suspense and drama. "Silence" tells the story of a librarian named Norma who encounters a stranger at closing time who is searching for an unknown book in the non-fiction aisle. "Scrub-A-Dub-Dub" revolves around the narrator and her conflict with her co-worker Sandy.
After losing her parents during the pandemic she is homeless and spends her time at the Laundromat. One day Sandy enters with her laundry basket and work will never be the same. "B-2091 and a Pig Heart Transplant" takes place in the year 2091 and is about a girl named Karen who is an anti-vaxxer and part of a resistance along with her Mother. After losing her father and brother to heart attacks she must now decide between a pig heart transplant or certain death without the surgery. "The Elephant Must Die" tells the story of a brother and sister and the family secrets that Kat has carried around all her life.
The death of her father has brought her back to confront her brother about that stormy night in 1966.
