Résumé
The Coup is a story of hope and second chances. It is a story that speaks to every leader, whether leading a family or leading a Fortune 500 company. Family relationships are messy. They induce joy and encouragement or provoke strife and hurt. In the Bible we read about families; some healthy, others like most of ours, dysfunctional,. The Coup is an analysis of David's family, but it is also my narrative and yours.
As we delve into The Coup of Absalom against his father, King David, you will also glimpse parts of my journey. Think about your story: how similar or different is it from this Biblical narrative that divulges horrific truths about people who, like you and me, live in dysfunctional relationships?Meditating on the story of The Coup: its background, characters, and the consequences of each choice gives us an insight into our own lives and the price of every decision we make: the cost that affects us, our families and leaves a generational legacy of either blessing or curse.
The Coup gives hope that God can use and redeem our stories.
