Assessment that works! This booklet explains assessment in clear, easy-to-understand language. This manual includes everything you'll need to put together an effective assessment plan. "This assessment handbook is a valuable tool that de-mystifies the process of conducting program assessment for faculty and administrators. The handbook tackles the complex process of assessment and presents concrete steps, tips, and strategies that help faculty and administrators talk about assessment, develop assessment plans, enact assessment initiatives, analyze assessment data and report assessment results in a meaningful way.
The book does a nice job setting the stage for the importance of assessment and discusses some of the challenges that many people face as they develop their assessment systems. I found the Key Tips for Conducting Assessment to be particularly helpful as I think about developing assessment efforts for our doctoral program. Finally, the examples of exemplary college assessment programs that are outlined at the end of the book are very helpful to the visual learner who seeks successful models of assessment to emulate.-Dr.
