Résumé
Two old-timers that went by the name of Long Jim and Windy ride into Apache Wells expecting nothing more than a friendly visit with an old prospector friend. Instead, they find a town gripped by fear and wild rumours. Their friend has vanished somewhere out on the Mesa - and locals swear his ghost now walks the desert at night. With a fortune locked inside the town bank, Sheriff Caulkins distrusts every stranger who rides through town.
Word is spreading fast that notorious outlaw Bighead Nevens has his eye on the money, and before long Apache Wells is teetering on the edge of violence. As suspicion grows, guns are drawn, and death stalks the dusty streets, one man may profit more than anyone else - Zachary Stack, the town undertaker. Because in Apache Wells, trouble is always buried shallow.
