The Coffee Talk and Other Stories is a collection of science fiction, fantasy, and romance stories, most of which including anthropomorphic characters. These stories are meant to bring small slice of life stories from an array of different worlds to life. In "Heartbeat Clock", Amber decides to sneak out in the middle of the snowstorm to get to the local Snowmageddon fort building contest to meet up with the girl she has a crush on, but quickly gets herself lost in the snow. "The Rebirthing" lets us look through the eyes of a young vixen as she brings her human boyfriend, Jake, home for a magical ceremony of the family Phoenix being reborn for her family to meet him for the first time. In the dystopian story "Alone", a genetically altered man going by the name Thomas Renfield walks through a silent city that nature has taken back.
As the cheetah man does whatever he can to avoid any threats, he searches for his last chance at hope. "Wild Africa" shows some genetically altered cheetahs what it was like for their feral ancestors. But is it just a dream or is there more to this surreal world that Jess has woken up in. In "The Coffee Talk" and "Warmth", we see the growth between the genetically altered wolf, Alpha, and his highly religious classmate, Sarah, who has followed in her parents' footsteps all her life.
