Immortals are real. Other realms exist. What began as a game will decide the future of all reality.  Elina Stratford lives her very public life as pop-star Eva Star. In her spare time, she relaxes by becoming Lady Acoustica in her favorite online game, VITAELANGICA. Micah Giorgio lives a relatively mundane life studying to be a pharmacy tech and handling things for his dying grandfather. When he takes a break, he becomes Tuxedo Starlight in the same game. However, their relaxing video game has become entwined with reality.
Both are now Seam Splitters, part of an elite group of warriors able to transcend reality through Seam Splits leading to other realms of existence. While the world cheers Micah on as their favorite, happy-go-lucky splitter, he has no clue about Elina's secret arrangement as a fellow commander in their ranks. As warriors and diplomats, Elina and Micah take the torch from Andi and Mitch to become ambassadors of humankind to the newly discovered mernakind, immortal creatures thought to be figments of human imagination. Imagine their surprise to find that the merna are led by Frey, the wise-cracking vampire owner of the Splitters' favorite hang-out.
The merna and the gamers all seem to be on the same side, but what is the vampire hiding?  In a history forgotten by immortal design, humans no longer control destiny. Yet, Elina and Micah must balance the future of humanity and mernakind with all of reality. There is no going back. Will humans and immortals be able to work alongside each other to fight the big bad, Lady Nightmare? Will they cooperate and survive, or will they be forced to watch each realm collapse before being swallowed whole?
