Résumé

Deserts, disasters, double-crosses. Jaf Daskal returns. Shameless rogue Jaf Daskal thrives on trouble-and outwitting it. After double-crossing his employer to claim a mysterious treasure, he and his motley crew must flee in a stolen airship. only to crash-land in Caliuga, a lost continent of castaways, strange customs, and dangerously indulgent pleasures. Mistaken for the Empire's Inspector General, Jaf and his gang are celebrated like royalty, indulged with drugs, devotion, and every imaginable delight.
Fraud, intrigue, and shifting alliances swirl around Jaf as he navigates bizarre politics and the unexpected allure of Sirah, the young and formidable leader of the Caliugans. But paradise has its price. Even Jaf Daskal's wily ways don't guarantee escape. The Caliuga Set-Up is Book Four in the Jaf Daskal Adventures, a rollicking tale of humor, farcical mischief, adventure and intrigue. Click 'Buy Now' and tumble headfirst into the chaos of Caliuga and Jaf Daskal's life!
Here's a thought -- you've come to the page of a fiction writer, and now you want to read about him, right? Why would you expect him to tell the truth? You realize that each of us is his own creation, and the parts we choose to reveal are crafted to make us seem kind, powerful, brilliant, victimized .... Why should I be exempt? With that preface, I'll note my background is neither extraordinary, nor is my history notable.
(This is a stark contrast with my collaborator, Lindsay Petersen, who lives in a fascinating world indeed.)What I will tell -- I spent decades running a plumbing business in Southern California. I sold it in 2007, and since have found many trades and professions in which I've been unemployed. (The photo above is from a stint as a background actor for a Dodge Brothers commercial). I wasted this spare time writing novels, mostly -- also a screenplay (this is Hollywood, after all), a musical play with talking animals, and some short stories.
Any day now, overnight fame will find me. Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up.
Schooled!
