Anavliel Ben Israel is a South African educator, scholar, historian, philanthropist, leader and an author based in Johannesburg South. With a decade of service in both private and public education, he currently serves as a Department Head, Teacher Moderator and Professional Learning Communities Coordinator in Orange Farm. Besides his postgraduate qualification in Education, he holds an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Zululand.
In 2017, he founded a Dream Book initiative to stimulate self-awareness, identity formation, resilience and hope; planning and goal setting among learners. He is a founder of MYCO (Mpiloyomuntu Community organisation), an NPO dedicated to the mental health, scholastic and intellectual empowerment of Black Communities. The Black Soul's Dialogue is a culmination of thirteen years of interdisciplinary research, theological inquiry, meditations, into suppressed narratives of identity -- driven by his conviction that historical and spiritual truths are foundational in finding one's self and establishing righteous communities.
