The Birder and the Undertaker

Phillip {Chief} Melon Jr.,  a young man grappling with  Multiple Personality Disorder while  trying to acclimate to the quiet town of Bay Bulls, on the island of Newfoundland, Canada,  after relocating there with his family from Arizona.   Chief's passion for birdwatching integrated him into the local birding community with the help of friends Justin Cleary and Dorian Bullard. But with the emergence of alternate personalities-Big Sky and Man of War, it complicates his birding adventures, leading to long periods of wandering and disappearance.
Local law enforcement becomes involved when the community experiences a series of disturbing animal mutilations and disembowelments, along with missing vital organs.   Chief is linked to the disappearance and murder of a sixteen-year-old girl. DNA evidence connects him and his family to multiple murders under investigation in Scottsdale. International law enforcement cooperation involving the FBI and the RCMP discover disturbing connections.
Chief's only ally is his friend Justin, who is intrigued by the alternate personalities and conducts experiments to try to help his friend. But the truth is far more sinister than a mere psychological disorder.
