"At the end of winter, from between the roots of the great beeches, in the heart of the deepest forests a small blue bird with plumage as bright as a summer sky emerges.
It emerges from the humus where the egg was buried that its mother had delicately deposited at the very beginning of the previous autumn and then well covered with a thick layer of good brown earth, light and fragrant, to shelter it from the great cold during the darkest days of the year."
