Née le 19 août 1988, Veronica Roth est une romancière américaine. Brillante durant ses études, elle obtient son diplôme en écriture créative. Par la suite, elle devient auteure de belles œuvres et fut désignée récipiendaire des Goodreads 2011 Choice Awards.
À l’âge de 22 ans, elle écrit son premier livre « Divergente ». Publié en 2011 aux États-Unis, ce roman fut un grand succès. Il parle d’un monde post-apocalyptique. Suite à une guerre désastreuse, les habitants survivants de Chicago se séparent en 5 factions : les altruistes, les érudits, les sincères, les fraternels et les audacieux. Tris, une jeune fille âgée de 16 ans, est contrainte de faire un seul choix pour toute sa vie. Difficile d’opérer ce choix, elle devient divergente. Quel sort va-t-on alors lui réserver ?
Veronica Roth est l’auteur des deux autres livres de la trilogie Divergente : « Divergente 2 » et « Divergente 3 ». Le tome 3 conclu avec brio cette histoire. Paru aux éditions Nathan en 2014, l’œuvre « Divergente Tome 3 » raconte le renversement des érudits par les « sans factions » dont fait partie Tris. Les « sans factions » s’imposent par la suite en demandant les destructions des factions. Tris et des amis s’opposent à cette décision en prenant la fuite. Que feront-ils par la suite ?
