Résumé
Four months after her mother is murdered, Johanna must choose between vengeance and protecting the Kingdom she was born to serve. Princess Johanna must ascend the Throne of Solaria when her mother sacrifices herself trying to protect an ancient artifact within the Ivory Halls of the Obsidian Tower. Sitting on the Throne of Solaria is the last thing she anticipated when only months before she had been planning on marrying her long time friend and crush.
Worse still, the nightmares of a ruined world won't let her sleep. The only thing she needs is to finally ascend the Throne so she can finally start her hunt for vengeance. When Setsuna, a leader of another country, turns up during Johanna's coronation to ask for Johanna's help in finding her kidnapped mate who had been taken by the same people who killed her mother, Johanna knows she has to leave everything and everyone she has known to travel across the world with her best friend Dedria Heart and the summoned familiar of Solaria, Pendra. What she doesn't expect is being chosen by Arcanis, the Goddess of the Suns, and suddenly having the souls of four long-dead warriors occupying her mind called the Archons.
They claim she's the Ash Queen and will bring forth a peace the realm has never known before. The Archons make it clear though; the cost of peace will be high, and there might only be ashes left. While balancing her quest for revenge against her mother's killer and the duty to protect her country and people, the new Queen comes to realize the relic stolen is far more dangerous and world-changing than she had been led to believe and the prophecy she's been warned about is lingering on the horizon if she doesn't stop it in time.
