Der vorliegende Band bietet die erste deutsche Übersetzung der »Teologia politica« des Philosophen Merio Scattola (1962-2015) sowie eine Einführung von Luise Schorn-Schütte. Scattola war Professor für politische Philosophie an der Universität Padua, Italien. Er entwickelt in seinem Text die Begriffsgeschichte der Politischen Theologie von der Antike bis ins 20. Jahrhundert. Dabei löst er sich von der Perspektive Carl Schmitts, die für die Forschung bisher maßgeblich war.
Seine Begriffsgeschichte eignet sich zur Einführung in die Thematik der Politischen Theologie und ist darüber hinaus ein Handbuch für das Verständnis gegenwärtiger Debatten in Europa. This volume presents the first German translation of "Teologia politica" by the philosopher Merio Scattola (1962-2015), along with an introduction by Luise Schorn-Schütte. In his text, he traces the conceptual history of political theology from antiquity through the 20th century. In doing so, he departs from the perspective of Carl Schmitt, which has been dominant in research to date.
