One month after the zombie virus destroyed the United States of America, Dakota Travis and his best friend, Steve Earnest, are struggling to survive. With a dwindling food supply and a violent gang encroaching on their territory, there is little they can do but run. After fleeing into the wasteland of South Dakota, and nearly losing their lives to a zombie horde in the process, they encounter the last remnants of the United States military, and take refuge within an abandoned insane asylum. Surrounded by the undead, tensions run high.
