Résumé

Caleb Warner arrives in the high-prairie town of Judgment with a singular goal: head for the mountains to dig out his fortune. All he needs is to earn a little more money. When Colonel Morrison, the real power who runs the place, makes him an offer, he jumps at the opportunity. Just deliver a message to Widow Andrews, a small homesteader caught between two large parcels of the colonel's beef-grazing land.
Little does he know the ramifications, the twists and turns, and the hopes that will entangle his efforts. Add in an enticing dove who may be working for the colonel, and soon enough, he's drawn into the lives of several women seeking his company, his knowledge, and his loyalty. The colonel's long-suffering, beguiling wife joins the pile of growing worries. Suspicions become crimes, and Caleb is forced to choose between his dream and the needs of those around him.
Can he save Judgment? Can he save himself? Can he save those who love him?
After kicking off the bonds of life as a technical writer, I'm now a steely-eyed, unapologetic scribe of old-school men's adventures, incorporating once-banned raunchiness and good old-fashioned grit. Think the pulpiest of pulp. My inspirations range from Robert E. Howard and Elmore Leonard to H. P. Lovecraft, as well as pre-wussification 007 films, westerns, and a slew of other action flicks. No AI, not ever.
All these words, good, bad and otherwise are mine alone.
