Sample Book Insights: #1 The future is by definition the unsayable and the uncontrollable, and it is filled with paradoxes, mysteries, and confusions. It is an imperfect world at every level. Thus, the future is always, somehow, scary. We attempt to build for ourselves many protections against this imperfection, even in the patterns of our mind.
#2 If you surrender to the fear of uncertainty, life can become a series of insurance policies. You may choose to whistle in the dark, look the other way, or just keep busy in an attempt to avoid the substantial questions. #3 The process of transcendence is a falling into God, and it is a terrifying and wonderful experience. You are being held by God, and you do not know what will happen next.
But you know that you have been given something better than what you had before. #4 The Great Indwelling is a gift that is objectively already within you, but you must desire and awaken it by yourself. You never know that it is within until after it is awakened. Thus, faith is often clarified and joy-filled hindsight after we have experienced our experiences.
