We have to change the narrative that these are monsters, and realize that they are just like us. #2 The definition of a mass shooting is any event in which four or more victims are murdered with guns in a public location.
The death toll per shooting is also rising, and has been for years. #3 The media constantly reports on mass shootings, and the public grows numb to them. However, our fear of mass shootings is ever-present, as we have never known a world without them. #4 The lockdown drills are especially troubling. The more we participate in these routines, the more they become part of our identity and the harder it becomes to break them.
