Résumé

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The klesa of being a personality, or individuality, is the result of the urge to divide and discriminate. It is a natural instinctive form in which libido first appears out of the unconscious. According to tantric teaching, there is an urge to produce a personality, something that is centered and divided from other beings. #2 The instinct of individuation is found everywhere in life.
It is the urge to become a complete individual. It is found in all forms of life, for life itself is individuated. Everything that has life is individual, but they are not necessarily conscious of it. #3 The Greek term phobos is better than hatred as the principle of separation. For us, the West, fear is a more important cement than hatred. But in India, the gods are always carrying weapons, and weapons are not an expression of any particular love. #4 When a person complains that he is always on bad terms with his wife or the people he loves, and that there are terrible scenes or resistances between them, you will see that he has been living in participation mystique with them.
He has spread himself over them until he has become identical with them, which is a violation of the principle of individuality.
