Résumé

This book, Stroke Hope Stroke Prevention, which I conceived and began to write over the last seven years from early 2008 through 2014. It is an important part of what I call the 'Trinity of stroke, Awareness, prevention and recovery?. While these three important aspects could not defeat stroke in its deadly tracks. It goes a long way to help prevent one. It is a proven fact that strokes are 80% preventable, although the causes and triggers for stroke are complex and ever changing.
I suffered my massive stroke in 2006 and have dedicated the remainder of my life to work to spread the word of these three principles, awareness prevention and recovery of stroke. There are millions of people having strokes all over the world every year. To me this is unacceptable because strokes are known to be preventable with good stroke awareness and prevention. The massive stroke that I suffered in 2006 could have easily been prevented by simply giving me antibiotics before and after my spinal fusion surgery and/or listening to my wife and I when we returned to the surgeon and reported to him the symptoms I was having pre- stroke.
He merely prescribed me more pain medication and sent us away. I had a massive stroke three days later. I have written this book Stroke Hope Stroke Prevention specifically to tell the world what can happen to them if they are ignorant about what can cause a stroke and the symptoms of stroke. This book WAS eight years in the making. I spent the first year in a hospital bed following my stroke, and I returned home confined to a wheelchair.
The players in my writing tell their own story, although most of my work is written in first person context. Lastly, I would hope that the readers of this book take away the knowledge needed to help them to prevent a stroke or brain attack, which is a major cause for brain injury worldwide. I would like to thank the new men and women I met in my journey through stroke and taught me about a subject near and dear to my heart; to stroke awareness and prevention.

A propos de Daniel Bryan Jones

I am Daniel Bryan Jones 57 years old. I was born in west Texas and have lived in Southern California most of my life. I am married with one grown daughter and three beautiful grandchildren. I have worked for myself since I married in 1975. I owned and operated a residential roofing company for the first twenty-five years. I retired from roofing in 1989 and spent the next ten years traveling the world's mission fields.
When I finished my last mission trip to West Africa I went into the real estate business where I became successful in selling high end properties in southern California. I graduated high school in 1974 and have been self-taught and am a self-made man through my many business projects over the last thirty five years. I suffered a massive stroke in 2006 that was life changing. After years of recovery I started writing.
I have recently been writing the amazing story of my time in the mission field. I am in the process of writing a six book series on stroke awareness, prevention and recovery. I am also writing a training and exercise manual for post stroke survivors and a guide to care giving for care givers. Lastly I have an autobiography on my life story half written up to 1999. Since my stroke I have been asked to speak at many of the South land Colleges and lecture on the effects of stroke and the awareness, prevention and recovery of stroke.
I volunteer every Monday for a stroke group that lends support to those who suffer from "aphasia", a condition caused by strokes that renders it victims unable to communicate. I had recently spoke as the key note speaker at the 2012 Survivor's Symposium, for the NationalInstitute for Speaking and Language Association. As of 2013I am now the Stroke Ambassador for the Inland Empire in Southern California for the American heart/stroke assn.
