Résumé

STORIES OF SURVIVAL is a charity anthology inspired by and dedicated to the memory of Aiki Flinthart, with all proceeds going to the Melanoma Institute of Australia.  Cancer has touched the lives of many, and the Australian Speculative Fiction community has banded together to try and make a difference.  This collection contains fifteen stories written by both award-winning and emerging authors in the Australian and New Zealand speculative fiction scene, all based around the theme of survival.
Austin P. Sheehan is a writer of speculative fiction, a lover of language, literature and '90s TV. Armed with a psychology degree, he went out into the world to further study humanity, and now prefers the company of his wife and greyhounds. Austin grew up in Victoria's high country, and despite living in Melbourne for ten years, still feels at home amongst the mountains. In fact, you'll often find mountains in his stories, whether they are science fiction, fantasy, alternative history or horror.
If you want to discover what secrets are hidden in the mountains, go to www.austinpsheehan.com or find him on twitter @AustinPSheehan. Austin's novella 'Submerged City' - part of Aussie Speculative Fiction's 'Drowned Earth' series - was published in 2019. His short stories have been published in 'Beginnings' (Deadset Press) and 'A Bond of Words' (Scout Media), and his microfiction appears in 'Curses & Cauldrons' (Blood Song Books) and the 'Worlds' 'Monsters' and 'Apocalypse' anthologies by Black hare Press.
Nikky grew up as a barefoot 90s child in Perth, Western Australia, before moving to New Zealand in 2016. By day she works as a professional content writer and by night authors speculative fiction, often burning the candle at both ends to explore fantastic worlds, mine asteroids and meet wizards. Her creative work has appeared in magazines, on radio and in anthologies around the world. She is currently writing a dark fantasy trilogy, routinely sacrificing literary darlings to the editing gods in the hopes of seeing it published.
