Résumé

"A new vain Emperor sits on the throne. Dreaming of glory and conquest. A stirring in the west as power shifts. And a band of mercenaries known as the Stone & Shield make way to return to the imperial capital. A great gritty grimdark adventure." -James Harwood-Jones After years of fighting the wasting sickness that had plagued him, the Emperor has died. What will come of the Empire under the control of his untried son Ras? For thirty years Diirg has done the bloody work and the years have taken their toll.
But when in the trade of death, one's past is never far behind. It's a long journey to Emros City, and enemies new and old stalk the trails. In the far west the Councilors of Guilion seek answers to their own problems, and those that would affect the future of the world. Their source of power nears its end, their ties to the Empire are failing. Now, they must decide which part of their world matters most.
