Résumé
Seventy-seven-year-old Marine veteran Jacob Hinsen fights a daily, quiet battle against the suffocating grip of PTSD and the ghosts of Vietnam. His fragile peace is anchored by his volunteer work at the Veterans Hospital and a morning ritual of waving to three young, plaid-skirted schoolgirls waiting for their bus. But when a nondescript grey minivan replaces the girls and a familiar floral book bag lies abandoned on the curb, Jacob's honed instincts scream that something is terribly wrong.
Following the van to a desolate, crumbling junkyard warehouse, Jacob uncovers a ruthless child trafficking operation. Inside, the three innocent girls are bound, gagged with duct tape, and terrified. Facing a ticking clock before a transport arrives to carry the children into a living nightmare, Jacob realizes the terrifying numbers are against him. Outnumbered, unarmed, and burdened by an aging body, he is violently thrust back into the primal mindset of combat.
As the traumatic horrors of a massacred Vietnamese village resurface in his mind, he vows not to fail these children the way he feels he failed the innocent decades ago. Armed initially with only a scavenged lead pipe and his lethal Marine Corps training, Jacob launches a desperate, brutal, and calculated one-man ambush. It is a merciless race against time to execute the captors and shield the innocent from an unimaginable fate.
Stolen Girls: A Veteran's Promise is a gripping, relentless thriller of survival, vengeance, and the unbreakable bonds of duty. It vividly explores the permanent cost of war and the unstoppable ferocity of an old soldier determined to keep a promise.
