Résumé

Coyote was a renegade Apache who'd been spilling blood along the border for months. But now he'd had enough of killing and was ready to disappear up into the mountains-provided the army agreed to deliver his wife safely to him inside two weeks. If anything happened to that squaw before she was reunited with her man, all hell would break loose; Coyote personally guaranteed it. So the army called in professional fighting man Carter O'Brien.
His mission, to make sure she reached Cañon Calavera in one piece. O'Brien was no stranger to trouble. He'd been forced to kill three men even before he received his orders. But this was a tough job, even by his standards. The way ahead was paved with problems-from pitiless sandstorms and deadly ambushes to gold-hungry gunrunners and an Indian-hating sheriff. O'Brien was a tough man-maybe the toughest.
The only question was ... was he tough enough?Includes the bonus essay BEN BRIDGES AND CARTER O'BRIEN!!
Ben Bridges is a veteran western writer who has also written thrillers, horror stories, war stories, SF, thrillers, mysteries and romance. With his long-time friend Mike Stotter he is also a publisher, and his company, Piccadilly Publishing, specializes in reissuing series fiction from the 1970s to the present. Ben's screenplay for the forthcoming movie SHADOW FLATS has been novelized by Brent Towns.
"My passion for all things western started at a young age when the first movie I saw was How The West Was Won. From there it was mostly movies until I was 13 and a close family friend gave me a small bag of western books to read. And as they say, the rest is history. I would devour authors such as George G Gilman, Louis' L'Amour, and Marshall Grover. That, though, was only the tip of the iceberg. I would consider myself a late starter to the western genre because my first book, Last Stand in Sanctuary, wasn't written or published until 2015.
Since then other titles have come along such as High Valley Manhunt, Fury At Bent Fork, Brolin, and coming from Piccadilly Publishing, the action-packed Drifter series."
