Speedy McMerry thought his troubles ended when he stopped making reckless deals with demons. He was wrong. Mot the Silent Judge has decided that Speedy's choices have damaged the universe, and now every move he makes is watched. The demons Moxiel and Canary insist they want to help, Mot threatens cosmic consequences, and Speedy is caught in the middle trying to hold his life together while helping Melina do the same.
