Résumé

2150. The world has changed significantly. Damage caused by climate change and the resurgence of certain deadly diseases have drastically reduced the world's population. Nature has taken back control and the survivors are spread out over different urban zones. Simone, 50, is an astronaut who has been in training for a controversial one-way space mission. Simone will have to leave her son Youri forever.
Before they say goodbye, Simone asks Youri to travel with her to the seven urban zones.
Thomas Cadène, born in 1976, seems to have led dozens of lives. After graduating with a master's degree in law, he ended up going to work as a warehouse man, and then found a place in the universe of marketing luxury products - before becoming a waiter at a Parisian café. Finally he decided to become an illustrator, launching this career plan by working for wedding magazines. Around this time, he began to surf on the Café Salé internet forum, through which he met some of the cartoonists he would later work with as a writer, as well as Sebastien Vassant, with whom he organized The Smallest and Most Informal Comic Book Festival.
He then began work on an ambitious, multifaceted project, mirroring his own life: over the course of two and a half years, he wrote, relentlessly, "Les autres gens" (Dupuis) - the first "bédénovella" made for the internet. This adventure gave him the opportunity to work with over a hundred illustrators, some of which would go on to become collaborators on other future projects, such as Joseph Falzon, Christophe Gaultier, and Grégory Mardon.
Most recently, alongside Falzon, he has created the graphic novel sensation "Alt-Life" (Le Lombard; Europe Comics in English), a sci-fi/fantasy tale which has made a splash across the francophone press. Benjamin Adam is an author of comics and graphic novels. After graduating from fine arts school in Strasbourg in 2007, he moved to Nantes, where he lives today, sharing his time between group projects (Ecarquillettes, Radar, Oasis, Maison Fumetti) and graphic novels.
After numerous press and children's publishing projects ("Ulysse" for Bayard in 2011, with Christine Palluy), he published "Lartigues & Prévert" with La Pastèque in 2013 and "Joker" in 2015, all three of which were selected for the Angoulême festival in three separate categories. Since then, he has tried his hand at reporting and documentary, publishing in "La Revue Dessinée." In 2019, Dargaud published his science-fiction graphic novel "Soon" in collaboration with Thomas Cadène. Benjamin Adam is an author of comics and graphic novels.
