In 1922, a fifteen-year-old Japanese boy arrived in Tokyo from his rural village to chase his life's dream - to be an auto mechanic. A few weeks earlier, he had applied to be a mechanic at a popular workshop in Tokyo and got accepted. He showed up at the workshop, sleeves rolled up, ready to get his hands greasy.
