Two weeks. One cabin. No way to be alone with herself. Burned out and unable to write a word that matters, novelist Lana Brooks escapes to a remote cabin above Oregon's Echo Lake for two weeks of silence and solitude. No deadlines. No distractions. Just her, a blank journal, and the chance to remember who she used to be. But the rental company double-booked the cabin - and the man already living there isn't going anywhere.
Ren Mori is a wildlife photographer who moves through the world the way light moves through water: quietly, patiently, missing nothing. He doesn't fill the silence. He doesn't ask Lana to be anything. He simply sees her - and somewhere between morning coffee, evening tea, and a fox den that never reveals its secrets, the words start to flow again. So does something neither of them came to the woods looking for.
Then Lana discovers what Ren has been capturing through his lens. And Ren learns what she's been hiding in the pages she leaves behind. Some things can't be unseen. Some moments are better left unframed - and simply lived.
