Résumé

As Sofia enjoys a happy childhood with her friends Tijana, Jela, and Kata,  her frail and poor classmate, Niko, suddenly disappears, leaving Sofia with many unanswered questions and emotions. Despite being born into a poor family, Sofia adores school and dreams of becoming a teacher. However, her life takes a different turn after her father's death and with the Second World War looming. At the age of fifteen, she joins a group of young city schoolkids eager to fight the Fatschizm, change the world and build a better future.
Tragically, at seventeen, she must seek refuge with the partisans, where she meets an old friend who takes her breath away and gives her a reason to live. But how can she look to the future in such turbulent times?
