Coincidentally, Jack's nephew, Stanley Campbell, has also made his debut as a professional footballer with the same club, adding another layer to the already intricate story. The novel also sheds light on the various crimes that are prevalent in organized sports, including match-fixing, money laundering, tax evasion, drugs, and sex abuse.
The story is set in Manchester, the historic heartland of English football, and the thrilling events take place against the backdrop of the world of professional soccer.
