Résumé

Haven Ellery is tired. He is tired of waiting for a woman who may never return, and of fighting for his life. Even if he does die, he will live again. Many lifetimes ago, he met the most amazing creature, a girl, who lit up the world like sunshine. He was not only willing to die to protect her, but did. Not that it did either of them any good in the end. And then he had lost her again. Watched her disappear into the wind and he could no longer wait he was ready to find her in the next life.
Nara Millard found her Haven, but he is not the man she had left. He's older, weather worn and the fight appears to have evaporated from his still broad shoulders. His run in with a creature impossible to find in the middle of the desert has taken more than he had left to give. But there is more to the creatures hiding within the odd village in the desert, more than the rain they call, and the woman who seems to control them.
Haven and Sunshine have moved through their lives either searching out each other or the creatures they know they must defeat, but something in this village knows more than they do. And they may lose more than answers in trying to find it.
