Everyone thought the world was going to end in the same way the universe began. A big bang. Nothing left but smoke and ash. The sun swallowed whole. Mass extinctions; everything dead. The earth left a lifeless rock of lost dreams and crushed hope. Darkness spreading across the globe, reaching up thick fingers to blot out the stars. The world converted into a mass grave, home to nothing but billions of angry ghosts.
That's not how it happened. You're living proof. What the past thought was the closing of the book on humanity was actually just the turning of a page.
