Seventeen girls. One academy. Years of rhythm stitched into their bones. Alongside them is Sophie Smith, who joins later, for she transferred organisations, but somehow fits into the chaos perfectly. Under the watchful eye of Asha Chaddha, a teacher known for warmth, discipline and standards that seem almost impossible, the girls grow up through rehearsals, stage lights, coursework deadlines, care home performances, music-filled changing rooms and the exhausting beauty of Bharatanatyam itself.
But Grade 6 changes everything. The theory folders become thicker. The arengetram becomes harder. The pressure becomes impossible to ignore. And when the academy discovers that their examiner will be the infamous Lyra Lalani, panic spreads instantly. Because Lyra is known for seeing everything. Every hesitation. Every weakness. Every mistake. As rehearsals intensify, friendships are tested in ways nobody expected.
