"I could hear the chorus of cab doors shutting behind me as I reached the service center. It seemed several of my fellow asphalt cowboys felt the itch as well. Like tracking dogs locked onto a scent, a trickle of truckers formed a line behind me as I ordered my supper. I could feel them sizing me up, their minds going to filthy places none of them admitted out loud.
