Résumé
"Sarah, " I said as we drove, "Jake's still the same guy from my stories. He's gonna hit on you, no question. It's just who he is."She laughed, brushing it off. "You're being dramatic. That was college. I'm sure he's grown up. I want to meet this legend from your stories."I shook my head. "You don't know Jake. He'll try to get in your pants before the night's over. He'll start friendly, then push until he sees how far you'll go.
I trust you, but don't be surprised if he tries something."Sarah just smiled, unfazed. "I can handle him. It'll be fine."Jake's place was a small townhouse he'd bought cheap in our old college town, where he'd stayed for work. The moment we walked in, he was on form, handing us drinks with a wink. "Damn, Sarah, you're stunning, " he said, his eyes lingering a little too long."No thanks, " she shot back, taking the drink but waving off the compliment.
"I'll take the drink, not the flattery."Jake grinned, undeterred. "Fair enough. Just the drink then. for now."
