Résumé
The Shadow of Omega is the second book in The Dream Corporation Trilogy. Having been introduced in Book 1 to the main characters in the story, it the narrative broadens out in Book 2, and also rapidly gathers pace. In Book 1, we left Geoff and Donna facing possible death as they approached the runway for a crash landing on the moon. Vanessa and Millie have left Imperial Rome after an encounter with a sea of venomous snakes in the ancient Temple where they met the Cybele.
Their trials are only beginning. Marcellus has returned to the twins Lucius and Lucia at the palace. Their father, the Emperor Varus, is expected home soon, to claim all their lives. Rio has helped Martin and Clovis defeat the aliens that had seized the minds of the underclass, and turned them into marauding killers. Now she faces a journey to Helius by a dark subterranean pipeline, fraught with danger. Mark and Freddy have set out to Las Vegas to find Tarot, the polymath genius who created the dream-worlds.
Big trouble awaits. The Babylonian gods, and the dark force behind them, are gaining on us; as is the dark planet hurtling towards Earth from the edge of the Solar System. And mysteries abound. What happened to Einstein's mentor, Abel Levinson? Who are the Architects, and what was their role in all creation? Are the comatose dreamers really having their organs harvested and sold on the black market?.
What does it matter anyay, if a planet bigger than Mars is going to impact our planet in a matter of days? But is it all as it seems? Where do dreams end, and reality begin? Is anyone really awake?
