Résumé

Jo Nicholas is ready for a great summer: new baby sister, new bicycle, and new adventures now that she is in junior high school. And then her cousin Scott arrives. He loves electronics, math, and science. Jo suspects that he just might be a robot. But when he announces that he is atheist, he gets everybody's attention!Meanwhile, information from her father's research company is disappearing. Scott launches his own investigation, and Jo comes right behind him.
The two of them form an explosive team as they confront an international team of tech pirates!Reviewer "Throughout this book, there are many conversations about faith and why Christians believe what they believe. In addition to the adventure, this is a brief introduction to Christian apologetics. The author did an excellent job of presenting respectful dialogue between people of different faiths. The perspective is obviously Christian, and yet the author did a good job of not creating a caricature of an atheist.
There were no straw men arguments or bad faith conversations. All of the dialogue was centered around caring and respecting people even when they hold different beliefs."
After the harrowing events of 9/11, Jeri Massi did some soul searching and realized that she needed to live a more authentic, charitable, concerned Christian life. Already familiar with two cases of the abuse of children in Christian Fundamentalism, she decided to research and document cases in order to keep the sacred lives of these children public, so that their stories could not be hidden by the pastors in power in Fundamentalism. A graduate of Bob Jones University, she undertook reasearch of the structure on Christian Fundamentalism, its history, and other abuse cases that were hidden away in the back rooms of churches.
At first naively thinking she might find as many as half a dozen cases, she soon realized that there surely were dozens of abuse cases in these churches, then as she continued to uncover cases, hundreds. After thirteen years of documenting cases, interviewing victims, and confronting pastors, she realized that sexually abusing children is as much a part of the church culture of Christian Fundamentalism as baptism by immersion and Wednesday night church suppers.
