Résumé
SAVING SANKOFA A struggling Afrocentric charter school faces closure unless test scores improve. Rather than surrender, Sankofa Charter School calls in seven specialists: an architect, a coder, a game designer, a chef, a financial expert, a media crew, and a guide called Sensei. Together they try to reimagine what a school can be. With staff, elders, and scholars, they transform the campus. They build stations that teach financial literacy and sustainable food systems.
They train young people to use AI as a tool instead of something to fear. They create media that pushes Sankofa's story beyond test scores and data points. At the center walks a child called Baby's Baby and their Mama, learning what it means to fight for a future worth keeping. Inspired by Seven Samurai but rooted in the reality of under-resourced schools, Saving Sankofa is a story about refusing erasure.
It is about a community that understands that sometimes the bravest act is simply keeping the doors open one more year.
