Résumé

This novel deals with heavy, intense, and deeply sensitive themes. It looks directly into the reality of systemic trauma, physical abuse, and the terrifying reach of digital exploitation. But at its core, this isn't a story about victims breaking under the weight of their cages. It is a story about the architecture of survival. It is about how Kerri Phillips uses her intellect, her patience, and her sheer psychological calculation to stay alive, and how Sebastian Brooks uses his quiet strength to shield her from a bullet.
Through Quiet Ember Press, my mission has always been to write raw, unvarnished fiction that allows readers to escape the ordinary and get completely lost in a gripping, high-stakes journey. Saving My Kidnapper is a testament to the fact that even when you are buried twelve concrete steps beneath the earth, a fierce, protective love can still find a way to break through the concrete and guide you back into the sun.
Turn the page, leave the daylight behind, and step down into the dark.
A. N. Chockley writes emotionally driven fiction centered on survival, healing, and human capacity to rebuild after life-altering experiences. Her storytelling blends psychological realism with themes of resilience, identity, and emotional transformation. She Ran in Silence is her debut novel, marking the beginning of her journey as a published author. Her earlist work, The Blueprint, laid the foundation for her voice as a writer and her focus on deeply human stories of recovery and strength.
She lives in a small community in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. When she is not writing, she enjoys her free time fishing and being with her two grandchildren.
