To Ellie, he represents a terrible danger because he has no interest in the house. It is Ellie's cupboard he wants, for he knows what lies within. It is Ellie. This is a record of all my family went through during a few summer weeks.
We were desperate to save Ellie, but there was no way our buyer would ever let her leave. He wanted the soul of a child and made sure that what he wanted would never leave the house. Eyes were everywhere, and the house we left was undoubtedly not the one we had once loved.
