CarterI didn't ask Her Royal Highness Princess Miriam Stuart to come to California with me, but now that she's here, I can't imagine going through the worst heartache of my life without her.  We're different after what happened last Midsummer. I can feel it in my bones. Something strange has connected us on a level deeper than we can understand. When the lingering effects come back with a vengeance, reuniting with the two people that broke our hearts might be the only way to survive. Miri Spending a summer in California with Carter Scott would have been an easy feat for anyone else, but my grandmother, the queen of England, has other plans for me: a marriage to the prince of Monaco. I'd rather drown myself in the Thames than touch anyone that wasn't there that night in the woods.
I'm already married to three other people, but I can't tell the queen that.  The trees know everything, and one incredible night proved that, especially when the curse they gave us hasn't left us. The woods aren't done with us yet.
