Safe Where the North Wind Blows

After years of putting up with increasing abuse from her husband, a young mother knows the time has come to finally escape the clutches of the man she'd once loved. Finding the courage to report the abuse to local law enforcement, she's surprised to learn they've been watching her husband for quite some time, but for quite a different reason. Seizing the opportunity to get away and start a new life with her three year old daughter, Stacy embarks on a new journey.
Under the guidance and watchful eye of law enforcement officers, in a carefully laid out plan to get her and her daughter safely out of the reaches of a monster, Stacy and little Patti are moved to Skagway, Alaska. With its quaint buildings and the beautiful scenes of nature that surround it, the long-time city girl finally begins to find peace. At the same time, Chad Andrews has been sent to the small town to look into the cold case of a young woman having gone missing several years earlier.
During his investigation, he begins to feel captivated by Stacy, but fights to maintain his focus on the case. That is, until her husband turns up, unexpected, and things take a surprising turn . for Stacy . for Patti . and for the big city detective.
