Résumé

Deepak comes to America immediately mesmerized by the immensity of its abundance. After leaving Nepal to earn a graduate degree in the U. S., his plan is to make his fortune in the land of opportunity. He quickly learns America is more than he bargained for, especially his newfound "friends." He questions whether he can even survive, much less succeed, in this new country. The challenge seems even more insurmountable when he settles into his new residence and job, where situations occur that test his resilience and will.
In the midst of his agony, he finds one thing that could possibly make the experience ultimately worthwhile. Will she leave or betray him like everyone else has?
Originally from Nepal, Dr. Acharya embarked on his American journey in 2008, pursuing a Master's degree in Professional Writing at Kennesaw State University and currently an MFA student at Georgia College and State University. His academic journey includes a Master's in Women's Studies and a Ph. D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Currently, he teaches a spectrum of subjects-Professional Writing, English, and Public Administration-at South Georgia State College in the USA.
Dr. Acharya's literary footprint spans across genres from fiction to non-fiction, poetry, and translation. He has already published over a dozen books which are available on various online platforms. His debut English novel, "Running from the Dreamland, " received acclaim, boasting an impressive 86% positive rating on Amazon. Venturing into academia, he published "Sex, Gender, and Disability in Nepal: Marginalized Narratives and Policy Reform" with Routledge.
His literary contributions aren't confined to English; he has penned novels in Nepali, including "Mochan" (translated to "emancipation") and "Swapnabhumi, " the Nepali translation of "Running from the Dreamland." Beyond publications, Dr. Acharya's short stories have earned accolades such as a Certificate of Excellence from the University of New Hampshire. In his personal sphere, happily married with two daughters residing in Nepal, he cherishes his deep-rooted passion for reading and writing.
