Tasked with the care of Liza, a young girl who must be protected from her own father, journalist Gabe Ward seizes on the opportunity to exchange London for the isolated Northamptonshire estate of a minor baronet. He doesn't expect to come face to face with a man he spent a pleasant evening with at the Rogue and Vagabond eight months ago.
