Roads Not Taken is the third book in a new series, Timeband Origins, that continues the story begun in The Traveler Saga. Twelve extraordinary individuals, led by Ruthie Terwilliger, possess timebands, mysterious artifacts that allow them to travel through time. Together they have safeguarded the orderly progression of history and kept humanity on a path toward a bright future among the stars. The timebands allow the wearers to literally rewrite history -- yet the origin of these fantastic devices was once a mystery.
In ancient Babylon, a catastrophic event that was not supposed to happen has shattered time itself.  All that remains are broken fragments of alternate timelines, pieces of history that were never meant to be.  The last two Travelers, Ruthie and Eudoxia, must journey to these fragments to search for their lost teammates.  But these teammates are now living the lives they would have lived, had they never received their timebands, and they have no memory of their lives as Travelers.
 Ruthie and Eudoxia must travel to each alternate timeline and try to restore the memory of their lost friends. Meanwhile, a new and dangerous timeline is being forged, for Alexander the Great has come into possession of a timeband, and he is busy creating an empire that will span the millennia.  No king or warlord in history can stand against a power-hungry conqueror who can manipulate time itself.
 If Ruthie can't reunite her team and regain possession of the missing timebands, a dark Age of Alexander might never come to an end.
