When Ben Morgan, a young autistic boy, finds a body on his grandmother's ranch, he wants to know if it is his missing father. When told it is not, he begins to believe that a watching figure is his father who has come back to watch over him. He keeps this from his overprotective mother and soon finds himself in a sinister situation. Dr. Gerald "Road Kill" O'Connor is called in to help solve the mystery and protect the defiant boy.
