Résumé
Naval security crippled Sparrowhawk, trying to limit Willa's influence. Now she's aboard the experimental ship and under attack. Her hail Mary repair, gets her out of the frying pan. But the fire's hotter and her desperate repair caused even more damage. Damage that may be beyond even her ability to repair. Tasked with rescuing Willa, Garner can't directly confront their unknown enemy and the only indication of Willa's location is the enemies stronghold.
Taking the fleet to Jupiter to both protect operations there, and get closer to Willa's possible location. He's still light hours away from where Willa and Sparrowhawk might be. The enemy doesn't cooperate and launches a full scale attack on Earth's operations in the Jupiter system. Two bioengineered alien hybrid super soldiers are loyal to Abernathy. Eight survived and Abernathy must confront thirty years of fear to seek out the rest of them.
Each has the potential of dominating or destroying humanity. The others though, might be controlled by the enemy.
