Riches Wealth & Honour

It is time to be honest with riches, wealth and honour in the Body of Christ. The church must talk about riches and wealth because we will find it difficult to possess, lead and control the world without them. Poverty can weaken our grip on destiny and make the world ignore us. Many believers shy away from prosperity because of the erroneous notion that it is wrong to be prosperous. Through prosperity the world is spreading its message of lust and violence faster than we are spreading the Word of God.
The film industry has presented fiction as fact with such passion that millions are modelling their lives according to what they see on TV. Millions of people across the globe are preoccupied with how to provide themselves with food, clothing, shelter and the basic amenities of life. The average person feels fulfilled when he is able to provide the basic needs of his family. Having food and raiment releases contentment in many people.
Food and raiment may be good because they keep us going. However, they are not sufficient because they do not empower us to carry others along with us in the purposes of God. Riches and wealth are given to us by God in order to extend our reach beyond ourselves. When we have riches and wealth it means we have more than we need to cater for ourselves. The resources of the rich and wealthy outweigh their needs.
Besides riches and wealth, honour is being restored to the Church. Honour is an element of God's nature which He imparts to His people to compel the world to take notice of them. We are in the days when the Church cannot be taken for granted anymore. To be rich and wealthy implies to accumulate; to grow rich; to be heavy; to have weight; to be numerous, to have treasure. Though some dictionaries equate riches with wealth the two are not exactly the same.
Riches include cash and other material things that tend to lose their value quickly. Riches can have short term value. They can be very volatile. The Bible describes the situation well when it states that certain riches are uncertain riches. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 1 Tim.
6:17  Wealth refers to tangible and intangible assets that do not usually lose their value over time. Wealth usually stays with us for generations. Wealth may also include things like a patent for a discovery and royalties. We may refer to these as durable riches. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. Proverbs 8:18 A person's wealth is his expected net worth. Some experts calculate Net worth by multiplying one's age by one's annual income, dividing the result by ten and subtracting inherited wealth.
The annual income is the pre-tax annual household income excepting inheritances.
