Richard Ramirez, The Night Stalker

His reign of terror lasted from the summer of 1984 to August of 1985 when he was finally captured. During this time, Richard Ramirez terrorized the people of Los Angeles before making his way to the San Francisco Bay Area, getting the nickname of the "Night Stalker" because of his propensity to invade homes well past midnight. Claiming to be a Satanist, Ramirez brutalized his victims beyond human comprehension.
Now featured in such programs as True Crime and Mindhunter, Ramirez's case begs the question, was he a born psychopath or a "made" one? How did he get away with his crimes for so long and what prompted the sudden shift in his behavior?
