When pastors lose their first love for Jesus (Revelation 2:4), it registers in what this book calls the Brain's Attention Filter (BAFT)-the neurological gatekeeper of what a pastor habitually notices and pursues.
As love cools, the BAFT drifts. The remedy is not more rules but more love, with the Holy Spirit recalibrating integrity from within. Six parts move from diagnosing the crisis, to tracing moral drift, to four practical formation disciplines, to the Neuroscience-Informed Pastoral Competency Scale (NIPCST)-a 360-degree instrument measuring pastoral formation across six domains. The conclusion calls pastors back to first love, anchored in Colossians 1:27."Do you love Me?" That is not a performance review.
